Not For Me, Please! I Choose To Act Green:
by Maria Godsey
“Let’s choose to recycle, reduce, and reuse; and with my strong phrase, there’s no way we lose! Here are some examples to show what I mean, and how you can join me and begin to act green.”
FUN STUFF TO LEARN:
What’s environmental consumerism?
On Instagram, I saw a company promoting a reusable, thicker cling wrap–all in the name of “going green.” Beware of any plastic product listed as eco-friendly. There’s nothing environmentally friendly about plastic! When you throw your purchase into the garbage, it’s destined to either be burned or buried in a landfill.
As author Eve O. Schaub writes in her memoir A YEAR OF NO GARBAGE, “the most environmental purchase is the one you didn’t make.”
FUN STUFF TO DO:
FREE recycling services at Staples

- They accept all brands of items, regardless of where you purchased them
