FUN STUFF TO LEARN:

How can you tell if a wild baby animal needs your help? Well-meaning humans can do more harm than good.

  • Baby rabbits and deer are often left alone while mothers forage.
  • Birds don’t use their sense of smell to identify babies, so if an egg or featherless bird falls out of a nest, gently put her back. If she has feathers and isn’t injured, leave her alone.
  • Call local fish/wildlife department or vet for advice before you take matters into your own hands.

FUN STUFF TO DO:

A DIY pollinator oasis

Give bees a break! A water break, that is!

  • Choose a spot in your yard that’s visible but away from high-traffic areas.
  • Select a shallow pan and fill with rocks/marbles to use as a landing pad so bees don’t drown.
  • Don’t add sugar or honey to the water.
  • Replace with fresh water every week to keep mosquitos away.
